I would like to welcome you to the Kansas Region for the Dominican University of California. My name is Dennis Burkett, and I am currently a science teacher at Olathe South High School, teaching both General Chemistry and AP Chemistry. I am also an associate for Dominican University, which allows me to bring great professional development opportunities to you. As a fellow teacher, with over ten years of experience, I am excited to share with you courses that are truly created with the teacher in mind. I can highly recommend these courses because I have taken and benefitted from them myself. I spent one summer preparing to “flip” my AP class and have not looked back since. Other teachers who have taken courses like this in the past have raved about how well prepared they are for the school year to start. No matter their years of experience, teachers have enjoyed taking the course and revamping their curriculum, working with other teachers, or delving deeper into new ways of teaching or researching how they might change their classroom.
