Course Overview
Gain a deeper understanding of one domain within the Common Core Mathematics Standards. Working through course resources and mathematics websites, you will study one domain within your grade level standards. You will find activities to teach that match that domain and have a chance to reflect on them. You will also interact with other teachers to see what they have discovered.
Course Objectives:
In this course, participants will have opportunity:
- Gain a deeper understanding of one domain within the Common Core Mathematics Standards.
- Become familiar with the Mathematical Practices.
- Learn how to use several mathematics websites in your teaching practice.
- Teach three activities within your chosen domain.
- Reflect on your teaching practice.
Coursework is based on learning around the Common Core State Standards.
How to Submit Coursework
Each completed assignment in this course is submitted to the instructor for review. Assignment 1 should be posted on the Padlet wall. Assignment 2, the written report, should be uploaded to the Moodle dropbox. You may submit as one document or three. Name each file submitted with your last name and assignment number (i.e. rownAssignment3). Make sure you place your full name, course number and assignment number at the top of each document page. You will receive feedback from your instructor within 5 days indicating successful completion of the assignment or the need for revision. Assignment grades will be averaged for the final course grade.

When I’m not solving equations or collaborating with colleagues, you can find me at the beach with a good book in my hand and my dog by my side. I believe the best way to stay sharp in the classroom is to find balance and inspiration in the world around us.
