Course Overview
Discover why Graphic Design is important for conveying information in a clear and concise way and how graphic design principles can help students learn more effectively and retain information better. Studies have shown that we remember information better when it is presented to us in a visually appealing way. By incorporating graphic design principles into the educational process, students will be able to learn more effectively and retain the information for longer periods of time. Several free online portable graphic design apps will be used in this course. A Google account is required for this course.
Course Learning Objectives
In this course, participants will have opportunity:
- To gain an understanding of the importance of visually appealing material and how it helps increase
student memory and engagement. - To explore the basic principles of good graphic design in relation to typography, color, images and
layout design. - To research various portable software tools that support the principles of good graphic design for the
classroom. - To create artifacts for the classroom that exemplify graphic design principles.
